Reception and Transfer: To begin this spectacular tour, the Ali Perú Treks team will meet you at the Cusco airport to give you a warm welcome and transfer you directly to your hotel in our exclusive private transportation.
Expert Suggestion: We recommend scheduling your flight to arrive in Cusco before 11:00 AM. It is essential to drink plenty of water and traditional coca tea to help your body acclimate to the high altitude (11,151 ft / 3,399 m).
1:00 PM – Meeting Point: Our expert guide will pick you up at your hotel to begin a walking tour through the historic heart of the city.
Cathedral and Plaza de Armas: We will admire the majestic Cathedral and the colonial architecture surrounding the main square—a place filled with history, elegance, and local life.
Q’oricancha (Temple of the Sun): We will explore the most important religious site of the Inca Empire, marveling at the seamless fusion between original Inca stonework and the Catholic architecture of the Santo Domingo Convent.
The 4 Ruins Circuit: Next, we will board our private van for a short 15-minute drive to the outskirts of the city, where history reaches a monumental scale as we explore these iconic Inca sites:
Sacsayhuamán: You will be stunned by this colossal construction. Its walls are made of massive stones—some weighing up to 120 tons—carved and fitted with a precision that seems superhuman. It is the best place to understand the architectural power of the Inca Empire while enjoying a unique panoramic view of all of Cusco.
Q’enqo: A limestone labyrinth carved with underground passages. We will explore this ancient ceremonial center where the Incas performed sacred rituals in honor of Pachamama (Mother Earth).
Puca Pucara: Known as the “Red Fortress,” this military and administrative complex was a key control point for those entering the imperial capital. Its terraces and plazas offer a classic look at Inca defense architecture.
Tambomachay: Our final destination of the day, known as the “Temple of Water.” We will admire its perfectly functional fountains and aqueducts, where crystal-clear water still flows, demonstrating the Incas’ profound knowledge of hydraulic engineering.
- Tour Conclusion: Upon finishing, our transport will take you back to your hotel to rest. If you prefer, we can drop you off at the Plaza de Armas to enjoy the local cuisine. (Lunch and dinner not included).

100% Secure Booking & Payment Policy
To guarantee your departure, secure hotel reservations, and—most importantly—purchase the Official Machu Picchu Permits (Circuit 2), an initial deposit of $200 USD per person is required.
- Protected Payment via WeTravel: For your total peace of mind, we process all deposits through WeTravel, the leading and most secure platform in the international travel industry. This ensures your financial information is protected by bank-grade encryption and allows you to pay quickly and securely using a credit or debit card.

- Remaining Balance: The pending balance will be settled upon your arrival in Cusco on Day 1, either in cash (USD or Soles) or by card.
Arrival Logistics: Flights & Tour Start
Your adventure begins the moment you land in the historic capital of the Incas.
- Flight Details: It is essential that you provide us with your exact flight arrival time in Cusco. This information is crucial for organizing your punctual pick-up at the airport and ensuring that the Day 1 itinerary is executed perfectly.
- Direct Experience: Since your tour begins on Day 1, we do not hold separate pre-tour briefings. Your expert guide will meet you at the airport or your hotel to start the activities and will provide all necessary instructions and details personally as the journey unfolds.
Luggage & Special Train Regulations
While standard travel typically allows for large suitcases, the train companies to Machu Picchu (PeruRail and IncaRail) have strict safety and space regulations.
- Train Weight Restriction: Railway companies only allow one piece of carry-on luggage per passenger, with a maximum weight of 11 lbs / 5 kg.
- Pack Everything You Need for Comfort: In this small bag or backpack, you can carry everything necessary to fully enjoy your stay in Aguas Calientes: a full change of clothes, toiletries, swimwear (for the local hot springs), and your camera gear. This is more than enough space for a high-quality overnight stay.
- Main Luggage Storage: Your large suitcases will remain safely stored, free of charge, at our partner hotel in Cusco (Tierra Viva Cusco Centro), under constant monitoring. You will travel light and relaxed to your night at Hatun Inti Classic hotel, while we look after your belongings in Cusco.

Faqs
Frequently asked questions
Why is a deposit required to book?
The deposit is used immediately to secure your Official Machu Picchu Permits (Circuit 2) and train tickets. According to Peruvian government regulations, these permits are personal and non-refundable once issued. Your deposit guarantees that your spots are legally secured under your name.
Is it safe to make payments through WeTravel?
Absolutely. WeTravel is the world’s leading payment platform for the tourism sector. It utilizes bank-grade encryption; we never have access to your card details, ensuring a 100% protected transaction.
When is the remaining balance of the tour due?
The pending balance will be settled upon your arrival in the city of Cusco on Day 1, allowing you to start your adventure with all logistics already organized.
What is “Circuit 2” and why is it the best?
It is the Classic Route. This is the most complete circuit because it allows you to take the iconic postcard photo from the upper terraces and explore the most important sectors of the citadel. With Ali Perú Treks, your entry guarantees the full experience.
How do you handle altitude sickness (soroche)?
Our guides are first-aid certified and always carry emergency oxygen. The first day’s itinerary is slow-paced to facilitate your acclimatization. We recommend staying well-hydrated and trying the local coca tea.
How difficult is the Rainbow Mountain hike?
It is considered moderate due to the altitude. The path is mostly flat, but the lack of oxygen can be tiring. If needed, you can rent horse transportation directly from local villagers at the trailhead.
I have dietary restrictions (Vegan/Gluten-Free); can you help?
Of course! We just need you to inform us at least one week in advance. We coordinate special menus with our selected hotels and restaurants to ensure your meals are safe and delicious.
What happens if it rains during the tours?
Our tours operate rain or shine. Andean weather is unpredictable, so we always recommend a high-quality rain poncho. Rain often adds a mystical touch and spectacular clouds to Machu Picchu, making for unique photos.
Are tips included?
No. Tipping for guides and drivers is voluntary and based on your satisfaction with the service. It is a common practice in Peru to show appreciation for exceptional work.
